This is Coach Green’s 17th year as an assistant varsity coach for CDM and his 23rd year coaching at the varsity level. As an Orange County native, Coach Green played shortstop at Dana Hills High School alongside three MLB draft picks. As a senior in 1995, he played every inning of the season at shortstop. During college, while studying Political Science, he was a four-year letterman in baseball at George Washington University, where he played for the 1998 regular-season Atlantic 10 Conference champions. He reached base safely in nine at-bats in a row during his senior year and never struck out during his entire college career. He played in two major league stadiums, Jacobs Field in Cleveland (where he stole a base) and Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia.
Coach Green began his coaching career at Newport Harbor as a varsity assistant in 2000. He then became a varsity assistant coach at Laguna Hills from 2001–2002 during back-to-back Sea View League titles. From 2003–2005, he was the head varsity coach at Estancia.
Coach Green resides in Ladera Ranch with his wife, Shelly, and their daughter, Amelia.
